Brown Soda Farls / Brown Soda Scones

700g (1 ¾) Coarse Brown Wholemeal
350g( ¾ lb.) Plain White Flour
30g (1 oz.) Melted Butter
2 teaspoons Baking Soda (Sieved)
2 Eggs
1/2 teaspoon Salt
600ml(1 pt.) Buttermilk
Tip all the ingredients into a large bowl and mix together lightly.
Put out onto a large and well floured bowl and bring together to a large ball.
Divide into 4 equal pieces and shape each of these into flat circular cakes of about 5 or 6 ins. diameter
Divide each of these into eight equal triangles sliced through the middle like a cake.
Paint each farl/scone with a little egg wash and bake at 220 C 400 F Gas8
for 10 to 12 mts.
