Indonesian Sate Sauce

Half an Onion
2 Cloves Garlic
1 Thumb Grated Root Ginger
1 tablespoon Sunflower Oil
Half Teaspoon Chilli Powder
1 teaspoon Turmeric
Half Cup Water
I Lime
1 teaspoon Dark Brown Sugar
110g (4 oz.) Additive Free Peanut Butter
Peel and Chop the Onion and Garlic Finely.
Peel the ginger and grate it.
Cook these gently in a the oil for 10 mts until the onion is soft.

Add the chilli and the turmeric and cook for a further few minutes.
Grate the zest of the lime and add that with the sugar,water and peanut butter to the mixture.

Stir this well and simmer gently until the peanut butter thickens the sauce.
This can now be used in a variety of ways.See “Sate Cooking”
