Nice to see that the original of our Eileen Gray table (above) sold at Auction in Paris this morning for a quarter of a million Euros.
Great that this Irishwoman is now being valued over here.
I think Martin, that Eileen Gray was ALWAYS highly valued in France, but not recognised in Ireland until well after her death. Her wonderful Villa E-1027 was bought by some French institution to be made into a museum dedicated to her and Corbusier… And yes, I agree, her designs are stunning.
