There is a story behind the little vase too.
I saw it at an antiques fair just after we had bought Le Presbytere and recognised it (I used to be an altar boy) as a water cruet from the catholic mass with which the priest ritually rinsed his fingers.
It was priced a perfectly reasonable €10. I brought it up to the man and in broken French explained that I had to have it because I had just bought a Presbytere.
” In that case” he said “You can have it for €5 ”
