Where do the people end and the Trompe d’oeil begin ?

Let’s see, the trompe d’oeil begins at the flat surface of the wall with those figures drawn in unreal-looking colours with fake shadowing and the people are those three-dimensional figures in front of the wall, right? Better just to enjoy the transparent trick than pretend that you’re really fooled by it.
